Installing custom skins on IL-2 BoS/BoM/BoK is a pretty straight forward process.
--Step 1--
Download and extract the skin folder or the skin .dds files themselves to any place on your system that is convenient.
--Step 2--
Locate the skin files: they should have a format of xxxxx.dds
--Step 3--
Copy all of the skin files you want for a particular plane and paste them into the IL-2 BoS/BoM/BoK skins folder for that plane. The usual place is: \Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\skins\plane.
--Step 4--
Verify that the skins are working by either starting IL-2 or using the viewer launcher located in: \IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\viewer
